The North Carolina Insurance Commission sent out a news release Friday stating that Joshua Rex Walston, 26 from Leland, is charged with one count each of insurance fraud and obtaining property by false pretense.

Investigators say that Walston reported his 2007 Dodge Ram pick up truck stolen from his home in March 2009, filed an insurance claim and got $28,000 from Farmers Insurance Group.  In October 2010, investigators in Brunswick County got a tip that the truck was being hidden on property that Walston rented in Columbus County.  Officials recovered the truck and charged Walston with filing a fraudulent claim.

H2GO wins legal battle

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) - The North Carolina Court of Appeals has ruled that the owners of Wayne Street Mobile Home Park will have to pay H2GO late fees and court costs stemming from a 2010 court case.

Wayne Street Mobile Home Park has been buying water from the Brunswick Regional Water and Sewer District's H2GO since 2003 and on six separate occasions had to pay late fees in the amount of $256.08. The late fees charged were approximately 10% of the total bill.

The mobile park sued H2GO saying that the water company could not legally charge more than 1% of the total bill.
