Detectives make drug arrest after 3-month investigation

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Detectives with the Brunswick County Vice Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant Thursday night in Leland.

According to the sheriff's office, Lamar Jerome Morris was arrested as a result of a three-month long investigation after authorities received several tips from the "Submit a Tip Hotline."

Authorities found 7.5 pounds of marijuana in Morris' residence, along with nearly $9,000 in cash, two pistols and one 30-round Glock magazine.

Morris is charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
