LELAND, NC (WECT) - The next Wilmington Area Woodturners Association is scheduled to be held Saturday, March 10 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at VFW Post 9408, according to a release from the nonprofit organization.
Three area artists will be featured at the meeting.
Artist Sissy Brooks is scheduled to demonstrate the process of applying acrylic paint to a turned wooden vessel.
Brandon Guthrie, who is a Cape Fear Community College art department instructor, will discuss dimensional concepts for project design.
WAWA Vice President Bob Buric will teach those in attendance how to use wood burning tools to add drawings turned objects, as well as how to provide color to the drawing and how to apply a finish.
A fee of $2.00 will be collected upon arrival for the demonstrations.
