LELAND, NC (WECT) – A groundbreaking ceremony will be held for the $9.9 million Leland Town Hall project on Friday, June 29.
The event will take place at 10 a.m. on the corner of Town Hall Drive and Old Fayetteville Road, according to a news release from the Town of Leland. Leland Town Council members, architect Charles Boney of LS3P, general contractor Bob Morgan of Paragon and Jennifer Adams of Sun Trust Bank are expected to attend.
On June 5, the N.C. Local Government Commission approved the project financing.
The new Town Hall will reportedly be 44,000 square feet, two stories and will sit on three and a half acres. The building will be split in half—part for town administration and part for the police department. The 3,000-foot council chamber will seat 175 people, the release said.
