BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Two outstanding teacher leaders are championing a renewed teachers’ voice in the affairs of Brunswick County Schools and public schools throughout the state.
Laura Hunter is the 2012-2013 Brunswick County Teacher of the Year and Melissa Warren is the 2012-2013 North Carolina Southeastern Region Teacher of the Year.
Together, these dynamic instructional leaders issued an inspirational call to action for educators through a five minute video narrative entitled, "Teachers Address Teachers."
Superintendent Edward H. Pruden, Ed.D., in his back to school staff welcome letter commended Hunter and Warren for their ongoing leadership and advocacy for the teaching profession.
He shared, "We must do a better job telling our story, and we must all be effective ambassadors for our system and for public schools. Only public schools can educate the vast majority of the millions of children in the United States."
