BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) - The Brunswick County Board of Education seems to be pleased with Superintendent Edward Pruden – the group offered him a 2-year contract extension during his yearly evaluation, according to a news release from a school spoksesperson.
The evaluation was made up of 21 competency goals, with new North Carolina standards for Superintendents incorporated, and the board give Pruden’s work overall an A-.
School Board Chairwoman Shirley Babson said in a statement, "We applaud the work you have done and admire the work you have done. Our schools have grown significantly. Graduation rates have never been higher and the dropout rate is steadily decreasing. We have a new website and are sharing more information. People are responding."
Pruden said that he was “humbled” by the board’s support.
