LELAND, NC (WECT) – A golf tournament to benefit Special Olympics of New Hanover County will be held at Magnolia Greens Golf Course in Leland, according to a flyer.

Special Olympics is a volunteer-run organization that provides athletes with uniforms, supplies, meals, transportation and lodging, free of charge.

Therefore, to help with funding, both sponsors and players are needed for the golf tournament, scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 13.

The cost to play is $75 per person, or $280 per foursome.

Special Olympics allows children and adults with intellectual disabilities the chance to compete in Olympic-type sports.
