BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – A distraught Leland family is asking for help to find their family dog, which they say was stolen.

According to Michele Kelly, her Chihuahua/dachshund mix named Ratt was taken from the parking lot of Yummi Yummi Saturday around 12:30 p.m. Ratt was seen being taken by a woman in a burgundy car.

Kelly says the dog, a 3-year-old female, is very particular and will not eat unless she is returned home.

Anyone with any information on the dog’s whereabouts is asked to call 910-512-3042.

Kelly says there will be a reward for a safe return.

The family has filed a police report.
