BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Two men from Brunswick County were sentenced in federal court Friday for conspiring to distribute crack cocaine.
According to the Department of Justice, Jay Avery Jenerette, 25, and Mitchell Griffith, 39, were arrested in part of Operation BuggSnatcher.
During the course of the investigation, officers made six controlled purchases from Jenerette between August 2011 and October 2011 in Brunswick County. Three controlled purchases were made from Griffith between May 2011 and June 2011.
According to the DOJ, the investigation showed Griffith was responsible for distributing more than 70 kilograms of cocaine into Eastern NC between 2005 and the time of his arrest.
Jenerette and Griffith were both sentenced to at about seven and half years in jail.
