SOUTHEASTERN NC (WECT) – A record number of meth labs were reported in 2012, according to North Carolina Attorney General Roy Cooper, but just one was reported in Brunswick County.
Cooper said in a news release Tuesday that SBI agents busted 460 meth labs last year.
In 2011, 344 were busted.
One meth lab was also reported in Pender County in 2012, while Wilkes County had the most, coming in with 59.
Cooper is asking for five more SBI agents to respond to meth labs and look into meth manufacturing and distribution.
