BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Ongoing conversations between the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office and Brunswick County Board of Education have resulted in an agreement to continue providing a law enforcement presence for each elementary school.
This move stems from the recent elementary school shooting at Sandy Hook in Newtown, Connecticut.
The two organizations continue to collaborate for the safety and security for all students and staff members in the county.
A liaison meeting is scheduled for Monday, where it is anticipated funding for the additional officers will be discussed.
