If you are looking for quality family entertainment--our own rendition of American Idol--save Saturday, February 2, for a special fun time!

Spotlight on Talent, Brunswick County School's annual high-school talent show, will be held at 7:00 PM at Odell Williamson Auditorium on the campus of Brunswick Community College.  The outstanding student acts come from South Brunswick High School, North Brunswick High School, West Brunswick High School, and the Early College High School.

There will be no admission charge; however, donations for the county's choral music program are always appreciated.  We also encourage those coming to bring non-perishable food or beverage items so that we can help restock our local food pantry.

Join our Master of Ceremony, Jon Evans from WECT, and come prepared to be amazed as we showcase our very talented students!

Business picks up for Down East Connect

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Business is up, according to farmers with Down East Connect in Columbus County. They say most orders coming in this week are more than $40.

Down East Connect has organic free range turkeys this year from Worley’s Family Farms. According to Chandler Worley, many farmers don’t grow organic free range turkeys because they’re too expensive.

Worley said customers can buy the turkeys throughout the holidays via downeastconnect.com.

There are nine drop off locations for Down East Connect in New Hanover County, Hampstead, Leland and Whiteville.
