Commissioners meet for first time since charges filed

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Commissioners in Belville will meet Monday night for a board meeting – the first since a disagreement between a commissioner and the mayor.

Earlier this month, Commissioner Joe Breault was charged for communicating threats.  The charges stem from an email Breault sent to Mayor Jack Batson venting his frustrations about the way the mayor handles things.

According to the meeting’s agenda, commissioners are expected to discuss:

  • ABC Board appointments
  • Town Hall Facility
  • 2012 Spring Litter Sweep
  • Celebrating the town’s 35th birthday
  • Traffic calming devices
  • Speed limit on NC Highway 133
