Town leaders resolve penalty from IRS

NAVASSA, NC (WECT) – Officials in the Town of Navassa say they have resolved a penalty of nearly $35,000 from the IRS for failure to file W-2 forms with the federal government.

Town officials received a letter earlier this year from the IRS of the notification.

Navassa’s Town Administrator Claudia Bray said she’s been working with Congressman Mike McIntyre and Brad Miller’s Offfices since April to remove the penalty.

Bray said the town is no longer facing the fine.
