Basketball-dribbling toddler turning ‘terrible twos' into two-pointers

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Lots of folks dream of being in the Olympics, and for many, those dreams start at a young age. In fact, one two-year-old from Brunswick County is dreaming big and shooting with the skills of someone twice his age.

With the help of his parents and his favorite players, Josiah Brown of Leland is refining his skills and not letting the "terrible twos" get in the way of his two-pointers.

His mom posted several videos of him showing off his skills on a YouTube channel.

Brown doesn't make a basket every time, but more often than not, he does. He started out playing like lots of kids his age, with a much smaller net, and has since moved on.

The toddler works up quite a sweat as he practices with his parents for about three hours a day, and he's even been able to beat his mom and dad when they play a game.

"He's been able to beat us, and we actually were not letting him win," said Brown's mom,Joy Manson-Brown, with a laugh. "He went 20 for 25 shooting, so we weren't making all our shots, so he beat me and my husband at H-O-R-S-E. So, I'm trying to get him back for that."

Brown's mom says she hopes that perhaps he can someday play basketball in college, and then move on to the NBA like some of his favorite players.
