FATAL ACCIDENT: One killed in accident on Highway 17 | News
BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Levie Sovie of Leland, North Carolina was killed in an accident in Brunswick County Tuesday morning.
Troopers say the accident happened just before 7:00 a.m. at Goodman Road and Highway 17 in Leland.
Sovie, 35, was traveling northbound on Highway 17 when he overcorrected his vehicle and veered across the median. The vehicle overturned in the construction area near Goodman Road, hitting a piece of equipment which caused the car to flip.
Sovie was ejected from the vehicle and died on the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
