LELAND, NC (WECT) – More information is coming out about why two Leland Police officers have called it quits just days after being put on suspension.
The town of Leland has answered a public records request by WECT.com.
Below are the resignation letters from the two.
Officer Brandon Crain wrote:
"I, Brandon Crain herby resign as patrolman on the Leland Police department I appreciate the opportunity you have given me to represent the Town of Leland as a sworn officer I have learned many skills that I believe will take me further in my career as an officer I have decided to move on and take advantage of other opportunities that have been presented to me that I believe will better match my skillset I thank you again for the opportunities you have given me in the last year and I wish the best for the department and the Town of Leland."
Officer Andrew Correll wrote:
"I, Officer Correll Patrolman for the Leland Police Department, officially submit my resignation of all duties for personal reasons I would like to thank the Leland Police Department for the opportunity to serve the Town of Leland This resignation is effective immediately on this date November 1 2012."
WECT.com reached out to Leland Town Manager David Hollis for a comment, but he did not have a statement on the resignations.
