BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – If you hear an emergency siren in Brunswick County Wednesday morning, don't worry – it's only a test.
A full-volume test of the public notification sirens located within 10 miles of the Brunswick Nuclear Plant will take place at 10 a.m. All of the sirens will go off at the same time for three-minute intervals.
They are tested on a regular basis to make sure the system is in working order.
For more information regarding safety and emergency preparedness at the Brunswick Plant, visit the company's website at www.duke-energy.com.
