BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Thanksgiving may not be until Thursday, but some neighbors celebrated one night early by going to church.
Dozens attended a community Thanksgiving service hosted by Crystal Spring Missionary Baptist Church in Northwest.
This is the 12th consecutive year the church has hosted this event.
Community members from four different area churches come together each year the night before Thanksgiving to praise God and give thanks as a community. Wednesday night's service was headlined by a message from Rev. Dr. Carozell Henry.
"If we can't come together to give thanks as a community now, at this time, then when can we?" said Henry.
Thanksgiving Day, the church will host its annual Thanksgiving dinner.
