Dozens of people gathered at Wilmington International Airport Thursday morning to give two soldiers in the area a special welcome home.

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Dozens of people gathered at Wilmington International Airport Thursday morning to give two soldiers in the area a special welcome home.

In light of the of the Christmas season, family members and friends of Private Rachel Johnson and Private Travis Dennis gathered with flags and signs to show them how much they're appreciated.

Johnson, a graduate of North Brunswick High School, and Dennis, of Bladen County, have been away at bootcamp in Missouri.

According to Johnson's aunt, the organizers of the Human Wall came up with the idea to give Johnson and Dennis the surprise greeting.
