BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Traffic on U.S. 17 North near Leland will be changing this week, according to a spokesperson with the N.C. Department of Transportation.
Starting Thursday, traffic will shift to newly-constructed lanes on the highway, and the northbound lanes that already exist will become a two-lane service road.
During the conversion, the service road between Hewitt-Burton Road and Bridle Way will be closed to permit the installation of pipes on the roadway.
Folks who live in Stoney Creek and Snee Farms can get to U.S. 17 by heading south on the new service road to the crossover at Zion Church Road, and motorists are advised to use caution due to the new traffic pattern.
