BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Congressman Mike McIntyre recently moved his congressional office from the Brunswick County Courthouse to the Leland area after congressional lines were redrawn.
As a result, the courthouse now has approximately 350 square feet of office space on the first floor available.
After reviewing several requests for the space, the Clerk of Courts has decided that the Highway Patrol should use it as an office. Currently, the Highway Patrol uses a small mobile unit at the courthouse.
Commissioners will vote on a three-year lease that would allow troopers to use the office at a cost of $1 per year.
