Sheriff’s office tells men to pick up tires or go to jail

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Talk about a tiresome task -- men were seen picking up a plethora of tires Friday afternoon and loading them into a truck off of Brier Cliff Road near Winnabow.

According to a nearby neighbor, the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office came upon the group of men and noticed the hundreds of used tires all over the road.

The sheriff’s office says it was a deal gone wrong -- that one tire shop decided it didn't want to buy the tires from another tire shop.

The men at the scene were told to load the tires back up or go to jail.
